Become an Avalon Advisor

This is a hybrid position based in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Oakland Bay Area.

We are seeking a team player who is engaged, cares about young people, and who will fit easily into a dynamic team, utilizing established operations to support high school students through the college planning and application process. Our new advisor will bring their industry knowledge, a can-do attitude, and technical proficiency to the role.

Our team is strong and tech-savvy, supportive and encouraging, and we genuinely enjoy nurturing our students. We are committed to your success, and ready to share with the right candidate our everyday best-practices and comprehensive resources. We truly believe in the importance of team and community.

As an Avalon Advisor, you’ll help high school students identify and apply-to a set of colleges that reflects their interests, academic accomplishments and anticipated professional pursuits. You would need to be available for online meetings with students and families, as well as some in-person meetings at our Menlo Park office.

We’re planning to welcome our new advisor between March and June.

Preferred guidelines for qualified applicants:

• Undergraduate admissions experience,
• Undergraduate reading experience,
• College counseling experience at a high school
• Past essay review for undergraduate applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both parents and students.
• Experience with STEM applicants and international students.
• Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
