Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access
We provide leadership to ensure that inclusion, diversity, equity, and access remain at the forefront in the thoughts and actions of WACAC members and the educational community. We promote opportunities for educators to learn, understand, and apply more thoughtful and intentional practices to assist in our work with under-resourced, under-represented, and/or under-served students. We foster an inclusive community for open and authentic dialogue among educators that leads to action.
A sampling of committee projects includes:
- Planning and executing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA), a pre-conference workshop designed to help educational professionals at all levels work successfully with a more diverse population whose needs often differ from those of the majority population.
- Administering IDEA Grants to support special projects that promote equality and access
- Blogging about important issues related to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access for the Inclusion Blog Series.
- Sharing and updating resources such as Serving Undocumented Student page..
