Leadership Development Institute

The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is designed to develop emerging leaders within our secondary and post-secondary counseling communities. Post-secondary participants must serve in a middle management position (4+ years of experience preferred). Secondary school participants should have experience in school-based counseling (4+ years of experience preferred) and aspire to serve as a director or department lead in counseling. Participants are paired with a mentor who supports them throughout the LDI program. The expectation is that LDI graduates will commit to serving in a future leadership role within WACAC.

What The Program Covers:

  • WACAC covers the cost of the two-day program
  • Flights to and from LDI within the current Fiscal Policy, or mileage reimbursement for those who are local or those who are not local but choose to drive as long as the reimbursement is less than or equal to a comparable airfare.
  • Double-occupancy hotel room (single-occupancy rooms available at additional cost to participants)
  • WACAC Conference registration fees. **If your employer is unable to pay for the flight and hotel (double occupancy) for the Annual Conference, this can be covered by WACAC.
  • WACAC pays for meals during the program but not meals when traveling.

If you have any questions, please contact the Professional Development Co-Chairs at wacacpd@wacac.org.
