The position of Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment in Undergraduate Admission has significant leadership responsibilities. The position assists in the development and implementation of the strategic recruitment and admissions’ plan to enhance UCLA’s presence and visibility at Community Colleges statewide, and generate a diverse and talented applicant pool to meet campus enrollment goals. In consultation with the Associate Director, Domestic Recruitment, this position establishes goals, develops annual and long term plans for Community College transfer recruitment, develops marketing publications and power point presentations, and significantly contributes to the overall recruitment, and enrollment and academic success of transfer undergraduates. The Senior Assistant Director will assist in developing budget proposals and determining other resource requirements necessary for implementing the recruitment plans, developing and managing travel schedules for self and others in order to meet recruitment plans.
The individual represents UC, UCLA and Undergraduate Admission to the internal and external community. The position is responsible for coordination of department Community College visits and supervision of up to 6 professional staff; coordinates hiring, training and staffing of events; coordinates with campus departments, and oversees UA staff participation in major regional events; visits assigned schools. Responsible for coordination, planning, and implementation of recruitment and yield events for undergraduate applicants for admission to UCLA. Interacts with UCLA, other UCLA /Community College campus administrators and staff and representatives of the UC Office of the President, represents UA and UCLA at various recruitment and yield activities. Responsible for developing events’ budgets, organizing staffing and logistics , refreshments as required and web based reservation system, flyers/materials in coordination with other internal units . Prepares surveys, analyzes results of programs; recommends changes; prepares written reports. Participates in training of readers for freshman admission selection and serves as a team leader and resource for readers; trains staff and volunteers for recruitment activities.
