Website University of California, Los Angeles Undergraduate Admission

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for the position of Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Enrollment management, the Executive Director is responsible for the strategic oversight of recruitment, admission, and enrollment of all new undergraduates, both first-year and transfer, to UCLA. The Executive Director leads UCLA’s efforts to attract an academically talented and racially, ethnically, geographically, and socio-economically diverse pool of applicants each year. In alignment with policies enacted by faculty, the Executive Director will lead the application review process that helps the campus achieve critical and ambitious enrollment goals each year. The successful candidate for this role will bring significant admission background and experience in the field of undergraduate admission and will demonstrate values that align with those of UCLA, namely a commitment to access, equity, and inclusive excellence. Attracting an applicant pool of over 170,000 first-year and transfer applicants this past year, UCLA is the most applied to campus in the US and annually enrolls 10,000+ new students, over 1/3 of which are newly enrolled transfers. Our commitment is to ensure our new students have demonstrated excellence both in and outside of the classroom and that our student body reflects the broad diversity, perspectives and talents of California. As stated in the UCLA mission statement, “we strive for excellence and diversity, recognizing that openness and inclusion produce true quality.” The Executive Director functions with a very high degree of autonomy and is an essential member of the Enrollment Management leadership team. Also, the Executive Director will contribute to the creation of data-informed enrollment strategies, collaborating closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor and other leaders within the division and throughout campus to ensure the development of an integrated outreach, recruitment, admission and financial aid strategy.
