The Senior Vice President for Student Experience and Enrollment Management (SVP) will join Saint Mary’s College at a pivotal moment. Roger Thompson, Ed.D., a renowned national expert in enrollment management, began his tenure as St. Mary’s 31st President in July 2024 and is building his leadership team with individuals who have a passion for transformative education, service, and a commitment to student success. As the first leader of this new division, the SVP will assume a significant and influential position at the College and will have the opportunity to make a tangible contribution advancing the Transformation 2028 strategic plan. The SVP will build on the considerable institutional support for enrollment and the student experience to recruit, attract, select, enroll, retain, educate, develop, and graduate a highly qualified and increasingly diverse group of students. The SVP will formulate, execute, and continuously assess a seamless and forward-looking student experience from first point of contact to graduation that stems from and extends the mission, goals, and aspirations of the College.
The SVP will oversee a division that includes the following functional units: Enrollment Management, Student Life, and Mission. The successful candidate will enhance the systems and structures to aid in enrollment and student life planning and decision making at all levels and will lead an ongoing institution-wide conversation about vision, goals, and strategy. Great analytical and technological depth, the ability to improve upon every metric in the enrollment spectrum, a working knowledge of current national issues in student life, a commitment to keeping student welfare at the forefront, and a proven capacity for embedding enrollment and student life priorities within institutional values and aspirations will be essential for success. The SVP will also be a strong collaborator who is able to work at pace and purpose and possess the professional currency that will garner the trust and confidence of senior leaders, faculty, campus constituents, and division staff.
