History of WACAC

In 1967, dedicated admissions professionals heeded a call from the National Association for College Admission Counseling to form a regional association on the West coast. Fifty years later, the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling is still championing our profession — and its member professionals — while striving to help deserving students receive quality higher education.

The Call to Action

Dr. Emery Walker of Claremont College and Ms. Marilyn Blum of Scripps College received a letter from Mr. Ted Cooper, Executive Director of NACAC encouraging the creation of a western states regional chapter.
