I am thrilled to serve as the new Chairperson of the Nevada Interests Committee.

A little about myself….I have worked in college admissions for 27+ years for several types of institutions, most of which were in the SUNY system of New York State.  I worked at a community college, 2-year college of technology, 4-year large, private technical college, 4-year mid-sized public liberal arts university and have been the Executive Director of Admissions at UNLV for the past 3+ years.  I am having the time of my life! UNLV is an amazing institution, my team is incredible and how can you not love life in Nevada??  I’m happy to be here and now move forward in my work with my terrific Nevada Issues Committee…things are happening!

Members of the Nevada Interests Committee are shaking things up and moving many initiatives forward!  We hope our fellow Nevadans will join us on this journey….

Recent college fair activities include the completion of the first annual Southern Nevada College Week (SNCW).  Nevada’s Clark County Schools partnered with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to host various college day and evening fairs throughout the week of October 14th – things just wrapped up with a WACAC Fair at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack that attracted well over 1,000 students and their parents.  Over 120 colleges were in attendance for this day and evening fair.

Look for the first ever Las Vegas NACAC Fair to be held at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack on Monday, April 16th, 2018!

Co-Chairs Katie Swanson and Izack Tenorio are partnering to prepare for the next 2019 Legislative Session and will coordinate our “day on the hill”, as we research, evaluate and address relevant bills under consideration.

And Kelsey Kaplan and Ayesha King are going to keep everyone current via blogging and related social media initiatives….

Good things are happening – join us!
