College/University Professionals

For colleges or universities located in the United States – All institutions must be degree granting and regionally accredited.

For colleges or universities located outside the United States – All institutions must be degree granting and accredited. Additionally, your institution must be listed in or identified by one of the following resources:

  • The European Council of International Schools Higher Eduction Directory
  • The council of International Schools
  • The Directory of Canadian Universities
  • International Schools Director
  • Or, provide verification of NACAC membership

High School Professionals

For secondary school professionals based in a high school/secondary school that is regionally accredited or district office.

Professional: Independent Counselor

For Professionals who are college consultants in private practice who are self-employed or employed by a company providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students and/or their parents.

  • Must provide website or PDF of services offered
  • Must demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge in college admission
  • Must have a developed client base
  • Must participate in professional development

Professional: Non-Profit

For Professionals who work for a non-profit organization that serves a community and help promote and provide access to higher education. Must have been in business for the past three years.

Professional: Business

For professionals who work for a business that help promote and provide access to higher education. Organizations that provide products or services to college admission professionals or students. Must have been in business for the past three years.

Professional: Other

For professionals who are interested in supporting students by promoting and helping provide access to higher education but do not work directly in college admission, such as Teachers, Faculty, Administrators, and Middle/Elementary School professionals.

Retired

For Retired persons who were actively engaged in providing college counseling and were a WACAC voting member for at least 10 years and not currently employed full-time in the profession.

Student/Associate

For Students currently enrolled in Degree or Certificate program seeking careers in counseling, admission or financial aid services who do not qualify for membership under another category. Student membership level can be renewed for up to two years, for a total of three year student membership.

For professionals seeking careers as an Independent Counselor who are still in the process of building an independent business and/or gaining experience and professional development/training. Associate membership level can be renewed for up to two years, for a total of three year associate membership.
