Under general direction of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Planning, the Director of Student Recruitment and Career Development will serve as a key member of the College of Letters and Science Dean’s Office to apply strategic vision to lead student recruitment initiatives across the College. Work with alumni to support student mentoring and developing employer relations.

Responsible for creating and implementing a strategy for College-wide recruiting of first-time and transfer students. Serves as College liaison to University Admissions. Facilitates the development of a web-based recruitment strategy. Act as College liaison to departments on their recruiting initiatives. Provides support to departments to design and implement targeted recruiting including the development of recruiting materials and social media plans.

Acts as primary College liaison to Career Services, with the goal of integrating initial student recruitment efforts with student placement initiatives. Advises students on career development needs/issues, such as career interest, career searches, internships, as well as full-time and career-related opportunities

Responsible for student recruitment, career development and employer relations, and co-curricular engagement and special projects. Assist and participate as needed with L&S event planning and implementation, new and transfer student orientation, and commencement. Coordinate with departmental chairs and directors as well as with other campus partners including the Office of Admissions, the Internship and Career Center, the Division of Student affairs, Office of Undergraduate Education, and the University Honors program.
