Admissions counselor participates in the recruitment, admissions, and matriculation of new students to Southern Oregon University (SOU). They must understand and represent SOU academic programs, college admission requirements, residency requirements, housing services, athletics, student activities, and other aspects of the University. They must be able to work with little or no supervision while recruiting students and be able to explain SOU policies independent of direct supervisor, while traveling. They must interact effectively with prospective students, parents, high school and community college counselors, and the community to ensure all questions and needs are addressed in a timely manner. Extensive out-of-town travel is required.
