The Associate Dean of Admissions is part of the senior management team and is charged with overseeing the implementation of the communications and marketing vision and strategy in the Office of Admissions., The Associate Dean serves as the main liaison to the Pomona College Office of Communications and collaborates with staff, student employees, and campus partners to develop a multi-layered (print, email, social media, video) communications plan for multiple audiences. The Associate Dean will lead conversations about strategic marketing and communication in the Office of Admissions in consultation with the Assistant Vice President and the Vice President. The Associate Dean will work with the Assistant Vice President, two Senior Associate Deans, and two other Associate Deans to facilitate a workplace culture of collaboration, creativity, professionalism, and data-driven decision-making. The Associate Dean also serves as an Admissions Officer with responsibilities that include recruitment on and off campus, reading applicant files and participating in the selection committee.

Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, a liberal arts field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree is preferred.  A valid driver’s license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.  A minimum of 7 years of experience working with students and counselors is required.  Supervisory experience at an academic institution is preferred.
