Loyola Marymount University has an opening for a Director of Orientation Programs. Under the supervision of the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Director manages all facets of a comprehensive orientation for all undergraduate and graduate students. In collaboration with Undergraduate Admission, Transfer Admission, International Admission, Graduate Admission, Student Affairs and numerous campus entities, this position is responsible for the creation, implementation, execution, and assessment of programs supporting a seamless, successful transition to the University.
Additional responsibilities include: initiate, develop and maintain positive relations with on and off-campus partners providing resources and services to new students. Serve as the lead planner in assessing the needs of new students and implementing plans into current and new programs. The Director will create, plan, and implement New Student Convocation for all new undergraduate students as a component of the orientation program and oversee the orientation programs budget including the tracking of revenue and expenditures. The Director will also represent LMU at local, regional, national and international meetings, conferences, and through professional organizations or associates, serve on committees as required.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s Degree in higher education, student affairs, or related discipline or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience working with students in higher education setting. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced service-orientated environment, and executing across multiple departments and colleagues university wide. Candidates must have significant experience leading successful outcomes and navigating political dynamics within a complex organization required. Willing and able to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities. We are also seeking candidates that have demonstrated ability to work independently and have the skill to create, develop and implement new initiatives.
