The Assistant Director of Financial Aid works collaboratively with the Deputy Director of Financial Aid and other staff members in administering various federal and institutional financial aid programs, including the development, administration, and interpretation of financial aid policies and procedures in accordance with established federal, state, and institutional guidelines. The Assistant Director is responsible for conducting need analysis/verification, counseling and outreach events, website development/maintenance, administer the Cal Grant program, and supporting data and loan processing.

Ideal candidate should be technologically savvy with experience reviewing federal income tax information and an interest to improve system processes by automation. The Assistant Director must be able to make difficult and critical decisions, and have the ability to assist emotionally sensitive students and parents with financial aid issues. The position will exercise independent judgment in discharging the responsibilities of the position. The Assistant Director is a key member of the Office of Financial Aid team.
