The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University—one of the nation’s premier professional journalism and strategic communications programs—is seeking an assistant director of recruitment. The assistant director assumes responsibility for successful undergraduate, graduate and transfer recruitment that both meets (or exceeds) university recruitment and enrollment goals while diversifying and strengthening the Cronkite student community. The assistant director should be as comfortable on stage as they are in spreadsheets: The ideal candidate will vibrantly emcee recruitment events and engage prospective students, and effectively analyze data across sources to strategize and track goal progress. As a leader, the assistant director will inspire and steer a dedicated recruitment team; as a team member, the assistant director will collaborate closely with communications, marketing, admissions and academic colleagues to drive success.

The role is fast-paced and results-driven, and requires high energy, approachability, strategic thinking, comfort with admissions funnel data, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. As the Cronkite School seeks to meaningfully grow its student community of future media professionals, we seek an energetic, effervescent leader with an entrepreneurial spirit.
