This week I wanted to take a minute to highlight a new scholarship opportunity which will be available to WACAC members through the Diversity Equity and Access committee.

Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the Arthur Arzola Memorial Scholarship, as well as about Arthur and his work at Humboldt State University.

The Arzola Scholarship has been created as a recognition of Arthur’s work in the field and to continue to support the mission of those who work with underrepresented student communities, thus supporting the mission of the DEA committee and WACAC.

The Arthur Arzola Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded each February by members of the WACAC DEA Committee to a college admissions officer with fewer than 5 years of experience who has demonstrated his/her commitment to underrepresented students in California and/or Nevada.  Scholarship will cover membership and attendance at the Annual Conference.

Applicants for the scholarship must be a current members of WACAC.

The scholarship covers registration for the WACAC annual conference at the early bird rate, reasonable airfare to and from the event location, hotel accommodations for the length of the conference at a double occupancy rate and meal expenses not exceeding $60 per day.

Recipients will be notified by mid-February.

Scholarship Applications will be available via the WACAC website by mid-November.
